Miles Morales Is Doing Something Pretty Stupid In His New Solo Series

Writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Javier Garron are chronicling the next adventures of Miles Morales in the appropriately titled Miles Morales: Spider-Man, and today Ahmed teased what fans can expect when the comic launches in December during the Marvel Comics: Spider-Man Panel at New York Comic Con.

One of the big plot points for the series will see the young Spider-Man get in over his head, resulting in Miles doing something he really shouldn’t.

“Miles is back in school, back in Brooklyn,” Ahmed said. “He’s at the start of a new school year as the series starts. And he’s keeping a journal that he’s possibly ill-advisingly keeping more secrets in that he should. Without giving too much away, I’m a fan of the villain-hero team-up, so maybe everything isn’t what it seems between him and the Rhino.” He also noted that Miles’ uncle Aaron Davis will be “back in a big way.”

Miles’ previous title, Spider-Man, ended with his Uncle Aaron donning the Iron Spider suit and joining with a new iteration of the Sinister Six to battle Miles and his Champions teammates. Ahmed will keep Uncle Aaron a fixture in Miles’ life going forward, but the revelation that Miles is keeping a journal full of superhero secrets can only lead to bad news.
