Synopsis
From MangaHelpers: A terrorist group has declared independence on the South Pole, and they have placed extremely powerful nitrogen bombs off many coasts. They plan to take revenge on the world, by forcing them to live briefly in fear and then die. The US tragically failed to defuse the bombs. There are three of them off the coast of Japan, set to explode in 10 days. Luckily, the Japanese bomb disposal team has a powerful resource. That resource is a little genius girl, Machida Machiko. She's looked after by Aranagi Nagito, a trainee bomb defuser. She's made a pact with him, and with the leader of the bomb disposal program, to clear out the bombs and clean up the world. After certain events in their first defusing operation, though, it looks like all they'll have left to use is a defusing program written by Machiko. Will they be able to save Japan and stop the powerful terrorists? [tethysdust]

Top 20 Anime Deaths That Left the Biggest Impact
There's nothing more shocking than a surprise plot twist that kills off a fan-favorite character. And here are the top 20 anime deaths that left the biggest impacted, voted by 10,000 fans. 20. Nagisa Furukawa (Clannad) Technically, that should be Nagisa Okazaki, but we guess that when Mysterious Anime Waif Disease strikes you down so soon after you wed, you still identify most strongly with your maiden name. 19. Kaworu Nagisa (Neon Genesis Evangelion) “Nagisa” isn’t intrinsically tragic, as it just means “shoreline.” Nevertheless, we come to the crushing death of the list’s second character with the name. 18. Okita Soji (Hakuoki) Yes, we know that in this pretty-boy filled series set at the end of Japan’s feudal era, Soji, with his emerald green eyes, looks oh so dreamy. Considering that Okita Soji was also a real person who lived in the 19th century, whose death in his 20s from tuberculosis is a matte

Generations: Thor One-Shot Leaves Impact on Wider Marvel Universe
Writer Jason Aaron has crafted an impressive run on various volumes of Marvel Comics’ Thor over the last few years. He can do no wrong when it comes to the God of Thunder, and he proves that by using one of the publisher’s Generations-themed one-shots to examine what makes our two Thors (the original and currently “Unworthy Thor” and the Jane Foster “Mighty Thor”) worthy. RELATED: Generations: Thor Lays Fiery Groundwork for Marvel Legacy #1 Joining Aaron on Generations: Unworthy Thor & Mighty Thor #1 are artist Mahmud Asrar, colorist Jordie Bellaire and letterer Joe Sabino. It’s great to see Asrar and Bellaire team up for a Thor story. Some of Asrar’s line work lacks detail in wider shots, with one instance being a room full of Asgardian figures ranging from Valkyrie to the Warriors Three. It may be a deliberate artistic choice, to allow Bellaire’s colors to shine through — and it doesn’t take away from how impressive some full-page layouts of both Thors turn out. One example is

Point of Impact #2
“Point of Impact” #2 by Jay Faerber and Koray Kuranel begins with a classic opening of police knocking on someone’s door, and a long pursuit ensues between police and suspect across Kuranel’s detailed cityscape rooftops. The scene is well-paced on its own, and Patrick Boone’s defense tactics are interesting for their lack of weapons, especially for a soldier. While the chase takes up a forth of the issue, the scene’s length is justified because it leads to a deduction by Detective Abby Warren. With only four issues, Faerber doesn’t have a lot of space for deeper characterization, but Warren and Boone get some subtle and efficient development through their actions. Boone is by far the most interesting character in “Point of Impact,” as since he says very little and his movements are unpredictable. Also, he seems much better-informed than either the police or the press. Unfortunately, as the focus shifts from Boone to Mitch Rafferty, the bereaved husband, Faerber’s story becomes mir

Point of Impact #1
“Point of Impact” written by Jay Faerber with artwork by Koray Kuranel, is a whodunit beginning with a moment of shocking intensity, loses steam along the way and ends feeling like another middle of the road story in the crime fiction genre. The strongest moment of the issue is the opening page, which could be interpreted as taking place simultaneously with the cover — a cool effect; two lovebirds are sitting in their car outside a high-rise apartment building when a body slams on top of their vehicle. In this moment, the issue lives up to the title. What follows are multiple scenes introducing the four major players all tied to the victim, Nicole; her husband, Mitchell Rafferty, who’s an overworking but seemingly nice guy; her fling on the side, ex-U.S.M.C. Patrick Boone, whom she likely sought out due to negligence from Rafferty, or something deeper; our two cops on the case, Officer’s Warren and Dewey, counteract each other’s experience and enthusiasm. Adding to the action is a mo
